Columbus, MS – As nearly 400,000 Mississippians brace for losing access to food through SNAP benefits because Cindy Hyde-Smith is keeping the government shut down rather than address the health care crisis she created, Scott Colom joined Sim Scott Seniors today in Columbus, Mississippi to help families who are being left behind.

“Mississippians depend on SNAP to feed their families,” said Scott Colom. “No one should have to worry about their family having enough to eat just because DC politicians are playing political games in Washington. I’m proud to stand with Sim Scott Seniors and support the critical work they do to feed our neighbors and strengthen our communities, and as Senator, I will always fight to put Mississippi first.”
