Columbus, MS — Today, Congressman Bennie Thompson, U.S. Representative for Mississippi’s 2nd congressional district and dean of Mississippi’s federal congressional delegation, endorsed District Attorney Scott Colom’s campaign for U.S. Senate in a new radio ad that will run statewide through the March 10 primary election. 

In the new radio spot, Congressman Thompson urges voters to support Colom in the upcoming March 10 Democratic primary for U.S. Senate, describing Colom as “honest, fair and a fighter” and citing his commitment to lowering prices, creating jobs, and protecting health care and Mississippi’s hospitals. 

“​​Few leaders have done more for Mississippi than Congressman Bennie Thompson. He has spent his career fighting for fairness, economic opportunity, and investment in communities that too often get overlooked. He’s been a mentor and friend to me, and I’m honored to have his support as we continue the work together,” said District Attorney Colom.
