Job Description
The Scott Colom for US Senate campaign is looking to hire a full-time Political Director. The campaign is seeking hard-working, self-motivated individuals to join its team through November 2026. This is an at-will position tied to the duration of the campaign.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a statewide and national political engagement strategy to build relationships with elected officials, party leaders, advocacy organizations, labor unions, and community influencers.
- Maintain and expand a database of key political and community contacts.
- Recruit and cultivate a group of county leads across Mississippi
- Manage constituency group engagement
- Ensure stakeholders are continually updated on the campaign’s progress and successes while being utilized to further the campaign’s strategic goals.
- Coordinate surrogate programs and manage outreach to political allies for endorsements, event participation, and coalition-building.
- Track political developments nationally and statewide to inform campaign strategy.
- Represent the campaign at political and community events when the candidate is unavailable.
- Work closely with communications and political department
- Lead the planning and execution of political events and community meetings.
- Work with the Digital and Communications teams to amplify event attendance and visibility.
- Manage relationships with local hosts, partners, and volunteers to ensure successful execution of all events.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years campaign preferred
- Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills when reaching donors by phone, text, and email.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Able to work in fast paced environments
- Access to a car (and a valid driver’s license), cell phone, and a laptop. Some in-state travel may be required.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed.
Compensation: Starting salary $8,000/mo, commensurate with experience. Benefits included.
