Special Assistant

Scott Colom for Senate seeks a talented, organized, innovative individual to join our growing operations team. The Special Assistant will serve as the primary driver and body person for Scott Colom as well as aide in administrative and scheduling duties. The ideal candidate is ambitious, hardworking, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO COLUMBUS, MISSISSIPPI AREA

Reports to: Operations Director

Start date: ASAP

Salary: Starting at $4,000/month.

Hours: This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and point in the cycle, and will require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Operations Director to execute daily schedule
  • Drive and staff the Candidate at events
  • Assist in responding to scheduling invitations, keep scheduling trackers up to date, and compile
  • daily briefing materials
  • Help with meeting, event, and travel logistics
  • Transport supplies and materials weighing 40+ lbs
  • Must have car
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
  • Attention to detail, an ability to work under tight deadlines, and strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to work long hours and irregular campaign hours, including nights and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working on political campaigns
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Mississippi ties

Compensation

Starting at $4,000 a month depending on experience
